5 Things You Need To Know (If you never been to Vegas during MDW)

Buy tickets early!

We can’t stress this enough. All the parties and nightlife will be announced weeks ahead of time, and you will end up costing yourself 3 to 4x more than what’s advertised early if you decide to walk up the day of the event.

Stay on the strip

You can and should shop around for hotel deals for Vegas during Memorial Day Weekend, however staying on the strip will pay off, even it cost a little more per night. We personally made this mistake our first trip to Las Vegas during a Floyd Mayweather fight weekend. We stayed off the strip (Palms), and thought it would be easier to catch an Uber or Lyft everywhere. The problem was there were surges literally all weekend, which made even a trip to the strip and back pricey. The difference between what we paid, and an option in the middle of the action (Aria) was about $50 per night, but if we could do it again, the Aria would get our money.

The Pool Parties are legendary

The nightlife events are great, such as in 2016 when Travi$ Scott had Cosmo lit. Don’t forget the pool parties are legendary. Check out J.Cole at DAYLIGHT:

Don’t go cheap – get bottle service.

This is primarily for the fellas. The pool parties equivalent of tables are cabanas at most venues. They aren’t cheap, but if you have a group of three or more, secure one. If you buy your VIP area, that doesn’t give you a license to show up late. If the doors open for a pool party at 11AM, you probably want to be inside by 1pm. Keep in mind the average wait in line for a pool party in Las Vegas during Memorial Day Weekend is an hour. Bottles will be at a premium, perhaps 1.5x what you are accustomed to paying at home. If you decide to buy drinks individually, expect to pay $18-$23 dollars for top shelf mixed drinks, and $10 for a beer.

Keep an eye on airfare and book that first.

Prices will continue to rise inside of 90 days during Memorial Day Weekend. If you can fly into Vegas on Thursday (May 25), or leave Tuesday (May 30) you may see up to a 25 percent price difference on your overall flight deals.
